Mahender Singh: A Dedicated Agriculturist and Community Leader from Bawani Khera.

Mahender Singh, son of Shri Mahasukh, hails from the village of Baliyali in the Bawani Khera Tehsil, located in the Bhiwani district of Haryana. A proud member of the Odd (SC-A) community, Mahender Singh has completed his 12th-grade education and is a dedicated agriculturist. Along with his deep-rooted connection to the land, he is also a Government Class-I Contractor with the Public Health Engineering Department (PHED). Representing the 59 – Bawani Khera (Reserved) Assembly Constituency, Mahender Singh is committed to serving his community and bringing positive change to the region.

Political Experience

– Nominated as Deputy Sarpanch of Baliyali village in 1995.
– Contested the 2009 Vidhan Sabha elections from the Bawani Khera constituency (reserved) on the Haryana Janhit Congress symbol.
– Participated in a close triangular contest, securing 24.31% of the votes.

Social Experience

– Joined social work in 1988 and actively participated in various social initiatives.
– Served as the State Vice President of Odd Samaj from 1995 to 2000.
– Held the position of National General Secretary of Odd Samaj from 2005 to 2010.
– Unanimously elected as the State President of Odd Samaj (regd-80) for three consecutive terms, serving from 2015 to 2023 under the title of Sagar Samrat.

Social Experience

– In 1996, personally funded and constructed the Odd Dharamshala in village Baliyali by donating 750 yards of land.
– Overseeing construction on 12 acres of land in Hisar, with a project cost of approximately 3 crores.
– Maharaja Bhagirath Hostel, Maharaja Sagar Sabhagar Hall, and Haryana Odd Samaj Dharamshala are all currently under construction, managed and supervised during tenure according to personal vision.
– Maintain strong relationships with 36 communities in the Bawani Khera constituency.
– Stand by the people of the constituency in both happiness and sorrow.
– Have been raising the voice of the constituency’s people since 2005.
– Actively participate in every social work initiative.
– Built a big hall room and office for the Od community in the memory of his son late Shri Sanjiv Tihal in Hisar Od Dharamshala and Hostel.
– Built a hall room in the memory of his father late Shri Mahasukh in the cremation ground in village Baliali.
– Built a room in the memory of his son late Shri Sanjiv Tihal in the Shiv temple of village Rampura.
– Lord Vishnu and Maa Laxmi temple is under construction in village Baliali Main Bus Adda Hanuman Temple, whose Pran Pratishtha will be done on 20.11.2024 and on the same day, a Bhandara will also be organized with the blessings of Lord Vishnu.

A Legacy of Leadership and Public Service

Congress leader Mahender Odd contested the 2009 elections from HJC and secured 24.31 percent votes. This is also considered a proof of his mass base. He has been active in public welfare and politics since his youth. He has also held the post of Deputy Sarpanch of village Baliyali during the year 1995. He was the state vice-president of Odd Samaj from 1995 to 2000, national general secretary of Odd Samaj from 2005 to 2010, and three times in a row from 2015 to 2023 – Sagar Samrat has been the state president of Odd Samaj.

Mahender Odd has done a lot of work for social welfare and social development at his own level. In the year 1996, he got Odd Dharamshala constructed at his own level by giving 750 yards of land for the construction of Odd Dharamshala in village Baliyali. He also played an important role with the help of society in the construction of Maharaja Bhagirath hostel, Maharaja Sagar Sabhagar Hall, Haryana Odd Samaj Dharamshala etc. which are under construction at a cost of about 3 crores on about 1.5 acres of land in Hisar.
